Teens are the most prevalent group treated in the orthodontic office since most 12-14 year olds first have all their adult teeth. It’s like a rite of passage. Braces, pimples, glasses (and headgear…er, maybe that was just me) go together like red, white, and blue. Most teens get traditional metal braces and many like to choose fun colors for their braces. Others want to keep their treatment on the down low with clear braces. You can do either.

 

It’s nice to have options. If you are a candidate for orthodontic treatment but aren’t jazzed about getting braces. Guess what? There are even more options than when your parents went through treatment – clear braces and Invisalign aka clear aligners. You know yourself best, so you choose what will work for you. Small, low profile braces that are fixed to your tooth and work for you 24/7 or clear trays that you wear all the time but get to take out for meal time. Either way, it’s still a good idea to brush after lunch!
